My new poems

Hello

We have been writing poems. I have written two poems one is when you have to read between the lines and the other one is a limerick. The one when you have to read between the lines is you have to read carefully because the person doesn't really tell you what is going on. So you have to kind of figure out what each line means. A limerick is a poem that has five lines and they have to be a little bit silly and the last words have to rhyme. But the third and fourth line do not rhyme with the second and first one but the third one and fourth one rhyme with each other. Then the 5th line and the word at the end rhymes with the one at the first and second line.

Here are my poems.

(Read between the lines)

Butterfly's explode

Butterfly's flutter inside the waiter.
Sound rips through the air.
Without waiting any more.
Sounds of deep rumbling go through the ground.
White spreads through the air as they are panting.
The sounds of cars wiz by.
The stopping sound is like a rhythm.
They go to the front but slowly come back down.
Some stay in the lead.
They lead the way.
Kids push past trying to get to them.
Soon kids start to fall behind, well others keep there place or take another's.
Cheers start to rise.
Swelling of joy ran through the kids.
There spirits were high, all there pain was gone as they reached near the line.
The lead kids were no longer seen.
But you could hear them cheering you on.
As you crossed the line the butterfly's exploded they were no longer.

( Limerick )

Splashing in the ocean breeze.
 Where are, the busy bees.
Clip clop pop.
As the crabs hop.
Scattering, like knives to the open seas.

What is your favourite type of poem.

Top Team

Hi again

At school we had Top team. Top team is a thing where you are in a group with people and there is all these activities for you to do. You and your group have five minutes on each and there are 12 different activities. You try to get as many points as possible. For the first activity my group had was a sling shot and if you caught it it would equal 10 points. My group caught three so we got thirty points.

The second activity was  when you has this thing that your hole group could get in and it covered your head and your feet at bottom but the sides were open. If you made it to one side with out falling over or one member of your group fell out you wouldn't get a point. I don't know how many points we got on that one.

There was one when you had to through a hula hoop and try land it on a thing. Another one was a kind of mase where you don't know where to go and the person will tell you yes if that was the right step or no if it was wrong. There was one where you had to build a tower of block's as high as we can and be stable so it wont fall. One that I really liked was a water one when you had a pipe with holes a you plug the hole so the water doesn't leak. Well some other people get water to fill the pipe. I took the bottom to plug all the holes and that was a mistake because all the pressure on my finger so when it ended I had rings around me fingers.

Do you like doing activity's in groups?

Tough kids

Hello

My school singed us up to go and do tough kids. Tough kids is some kind of run where you have to crawl underthings and over, you also get to go into the ocean. There is some muddy patches where you get muddy but to be honest on the run I did there wasn't that much mud which was a bit disappointing but it was fun. Me and my friend ran all the way together. At the end there was a water slide you know the one on the ground and you put soup on it to make it slippery. It was pretty fun and I would do it again.

Would you go on this run?

Reading

Hello

I have read a lot of journals at school and my favourite one so far is one about robots and technology getting built toady. Although I found it a bit scary, it was quite interesting so see what is going on and what has been made.  I found it interesting because of how we can make robots.  We can make them to seem like us.  There was a test so a person was communicating with a computer but he didn't know and he thought it was a really person just from the messages it was sending him.  It also had some really cool stuff like there was a computer at some bank and it had a human face on it and it called talk to you and smile at you.

What do you think about the involving technology?

Trying new sport

At school they have set up for different sport for us to play. The names of the sport are.
Korfball
Lawn bowls
Softball
Cricket

Out of these sport I think my most favourite is korfball. It is a game from Netherlands. It is has some rules similar netball and basketball. The hoops are near the end of the court but not at the end. You can walk behind it with room to spare. So when you get selected in your team, you will either be on the defending side or attacking. And you cant cross over to the other side. When you get the ball you cant move so you have to pass to your teammates. To defend you try intersect the pass. You also can not rip the ball out of some ones hand and you can't touch them either. How you block there shot is by standing in front of them and you have to be in line with the hoop. Also boys can only defend boys and girls can only defend girls. And the ball can not touch your foot. So that is pretty much the game and I really enjoyed it.

What is your favourite sport?

Attitude

Hello everyone

Not that long ago we learned about attitude. We learned about our spiritless felling grow as we get older. Our relationships between people and are change. So basically we learned about puberty. Surprisingly it was okay. We basically learnt that it is all normal and every human being goes through this stage. Through Puberty we grow fast as in height. We have more responsibility and we have to look after our self.

How tall are you?

( Wings of fire ) FAVOURITE BOOK SERIES!!!!!

If you have not heard of Wings of fire I am a little bit disappointed in you. I know the series isn't that big but I still love it. The book is about dragons so if you don't like them just give it a change. The book is not about dragons ( Well it is but..) It is from the dragons point of view. There is prophecy in the book and a big war going around. If you also like adventure this book has lots of it. If you ever got a chance or you don't have a book to read I recommend this one.

Here is what the first book looks like. ( If you do read it I recommend starting with book one and two then three then four. Just read the books in order otherwise it gets really confusing.)

Image result for wings of fire book 1 link from where I got this picture.

( They also have a graphic novel so if you like comics get one!)

Would you read this book?

If you have read it what do you think of it?

Oceans method

For our reading we have been reading about how people take notes of the reefs and what tools they use to do it. They also take notes of what life is going on at the coral. For our reading task we had to write about the four different methods an say what one we think is the best was of calculating what is going on in the underwater life.

Wainui school camp. ( YMCA)

Hello every one,

And i'm back from camp. The camp I went to was up at Wainui and it was called YMCA, which I really don't understand, why there theme song isn't (Y M C A you can do anything... ) but the camp was really cool, my brothers went there when they were year 8 or year 7 and they really liked it, so I was pretty existed to go myself. All though it it was a long drive I really liked it, apart from tramp to camp, which is a three hour long tramp through a hill side all the way to camp, let me tell you that is not fun when you got a heavy back pack on you and you are walking up hill.

these are the activities I got to do.

1. Tramp to camp
2. High ropes
3. Camp fire
4. Archery
5. Kayaks
6. Orienteering
7. Raft build
8. Coasteering
9. Outdoor living
10. Break out edu and sport
11. Search and rescue

There were a couple things I found challenging in camp. The first one would be tramp to camp, but that's only because I was walking up hill and it was slippery! Another was high ropes but I probably chose the worst one to do because it  was all wobbly and dose not help my confidence. The thing I was climbing was like a huge wooden ladder and i'm the mouse trying to climb it and it's wobbling every where, but i'm pretty proud of my self because I made it quite high on it. Another one was Archery because I was using the the wrong had for the bow, then I tried the left handed bow and I did the same thing. The last one is Kayaks, this one probably wouldn't be here but I was doing it in a double, and I was sitting at the back of the kayak, and let's say I almost tipped the boat a few times. ( almost!)

There were a few things I learnt on camp and I'll start that off with kayaks. I learnt lots of things in Kayaks, although I went Kayaking when I was younger I forgot all about it, I learnt how to paddle  back wards how to turn and how to stop.

My favourite thing in camp was costarring because we got to climb up slippery rock and jump of a high one into the ocean.

Refugee

Hello at week one on term four I was reading a journal about people that have experienced war and came to my country to stay away and they became refugees. For our task we had to do some things like what was the main idea of the story and all that kind of stuff. We also had to put some information about a country we pulled out of a hat.

This is my task.

What do you think about this?

How to grow a watermelon

Hi

At school we had to pull a country out of a hat and I got Tonga. We had to find something about this country. We had to write instructions about their traditional sport or dance, those were ideas the teachers gave us. I thought I could do one on how to grow a watermelon because they use it to create some kind of watermelon drink. And that is what I did.

Here is a link on How to grow your very own Watermelon in your back yard.

Do you think this is a good help?

Hello everyone

I'm back from school holidays although I was back a while ago. This is the last term I'm going to be here at St Francis and that means the last PBL. For term 4 PBL we are creating an art piece or dance about our self or show what we can do. We also have to create a piece of music about our self.

What do you think about this term's new PBL?
