Our first game was last week and we played on our home ground. ( So that would be at Parklands) The game would start at 9.00am, but we had to be there by 8.30am so we could have a warm up before the game would start. It was supper cold in the morning so I was wearing my gloves,hat and my parklands hoodie and a thermal underneath.
When the game started Dad put me in left back. The team we were versing was Ferry meed. They attacked fast on as. We had to fall back a lot, there was one girl that was super fast, when she ran up the line with the ball I trialled behind. Sadly they had got a goal ( Well for them they were so happy ) but that was okay it wasn't even the end of the first half so we could make up for it, sure enough before the half ended we got one. We were all so happy that now it was like we were starting all over again but we had a chance of winning. They started fighting harder to get a goal but finally it was half time.
I was subbed of first for second half, I watched the game from the side line. seeing the ball go up and down the filed. I saw Ferry meed take a corner and one of my teammates got a blow to the stomach from the ball and she had to come of. I took her place as mid defence, there was a lot of running around and I got tired very quickly. Soon I was back in defence, which I was thankfully for I kind of liked it but if I want to play there I need to train more. Soon our team scored another goal. Ferry meed was not happy they pushed forwarder trying really hard to score. Unfortunately for them they didn't and the whistle blew as time. We were all so happy that we had won our first game. This is a good start for this season.
