The thing I'm most proud of.

There are a couple of things that I am proud of that I did in St Francis of Assisi.

This year I am proud of coming third in cross country and for the zones in that coming 11th in that.
But the thing I am most proud of is. When it was term one, we had to write a recount of an event that has happened in New Zealand, I did mine on the Mt Tarawera eruption and that happened in 1886.
In my Recount I had a boy that was named Kauri and his mother told him not to go the the school, but he was bold when he heard a cry from the school.

In my recount when Mt Tarawera erupts, his family try to evacuate the village before the lava flows and hits the village, but his family never returned to him.

All of my class did a recount to, we did it for PBL.

Zones for Athletics

After Athletics it was about a week later that the Zones were for it. I got into Long Distance. The Zones was held at Rawhiti park, where my school did Athletics. It was really hot and it was supposed to reach 24 degrees.

Like it was my school did it the same way. Boys where doing field first and girls where doing track, which was good because it wasn't so hot in the morning as it would be in the afternoon. I had to wait a while to my race was up. So I went under some trees with my friend, but I was also watching some of the other races.

When my race was coming up I was nervous. I was only versing five other girls.
When we lined and the clapper went off, I ran telling myself not to go to fast. I was fine to the last lap I started to fell really tried, Claudia was right behind me, and I was a bout 10 m away from the finish line, so I sprinted as hard as I could, and I got fourth place, which means that I am a reserve for place one and two.

I had no more events to do so I went back to school van.

Athletics

This term at school we have been practising for Athletics. But we finely had it at Rawhiti park.
When we arrived to Rawhiti park, it was spitting, they told every one where to go, the boys where doing the field events first and the girls where doing the track event's like, Sprints and Long Distance.

First of we had was Sprint's, which I got forth in 100m sprint, then it was on to Long Distance.
We had to run three laps around the track, we all lined up ready to go, waiting for the sound of the clap. Off we went, I wasn't going to sprint at the start because I wanted to save my energy for the end. I moved in closer to the inside of the track, so I would have to run less of a distance, so far that I could tell is that I was coming fifth place, soon some of the front girls where getting tired, so i went in front of some of them. Near the end of the last lap, I tried to spring as fast as I could but, I had no energy left. I crossed the finish line in second place. I was pretty proud of my self.

On the field events I didn't do as good, in shotput and discuss. One of my favourite field events are long jump, I came fourth in that two witch is good. Near the end of the day it started to pour down with rain, witch was lucky considering that we where done. We waited in shelter, till the bus arrived.

RE

In this term in RE we have been reading of the bible and it was based on Mary's life and we had to answer some questions, about what we had read. Then we had to do a dairy entry on Mary, to chose what reading to do it on. I did mine on the birth of Jesus.

We also watched a video, about Saint hood and we got a sheet, to write all the tittles before they become a saint.

Now we are doing a slide of some one that is inspiring. My group is doing it on Mother Teresa, because she helped all the sick children and the poor.

Do you know about Mother Teresa.

Culture Food

To day I will tell you about the Culture food.

Every one in our hub pulled out a name of a country. I got Japan, in my group there was Katie, Kayla, Micaela and Josh. We all had to choose a food from Japan. The food that I made was fried rice. We could all  cook our own food but some people brought theirs.

On the day of sharing all the food we waited in line, first we had pastry food, then we had the sweet food. I found It interesting where all the food come from. One of my favourite foods where rice, donuts and sausage rolls.

Swimming

Week 7 and week 8 we have been doing swimming.
I am in the third group to go swimming. We leave our hub at 10:10am, to go to year 1 and 2s hub, which our where are buddies that we take to swimming everyday (apart from Saturday and Sunday) and we look after them as well.

In swimming I am in the first lane. In my group most of the time we swim to half way. But sometimes we swim a all the way to the end. We have been learning to do survival backstroke. One time we had these floaty things just above the knees, we had to do freestyle with is and we could only use your arms. You couldn't kick with your feet, if you did it would float up.

Last game of soccer

Last week was my last game of soccer, on the weekends.

The team we were versing was Nomads. There striker was really good. I was playing in centre back.  (defence) I was playing at 9:30 in the morning, It was a cold wind but otherwise it was warm. The first few minutes of the game they took a shot at goal, luckily our goalkeeper saved it but three of her fingers got pushed back.
When were penalties first used?website to pic

All most when the half was finished we got a penalty and we scored. It felt great considering that this was one of the top teams.  By the time it was the second half it was one all. Later on in the game a girl was chasing after the ball but I got it first I tried to kick it up, but she stepped on my left foot and I fell over. When the game was fished it ended up being 5-1. Sadly we lost but it was a fun game.
